The Illinois Community College Board
The Illinois Community College Board in conjunction with various entities, public and private, will strengthen efforts to develop strategies and obtain resources to support actions such as:
Maximize state and federal resources to assure there is adequate, stable, and flexible resources which promote program growth and innovation for all adult education students.
Build a strong system of diverse providers, business and agency partnerships, and state leadership that is responsive to the multiple learning needs of adults including English-as- a-Second Language.
Develop programs that focus on learner outcomes and demonstrate the value of adult education to building a qualified workforce.
Ensure a professionally competent and committed adult education staff through high quality staff development and increase access to programs and services through technology.
Establish a structure for developing policies, procedures, and regulations that builds upon the advice and knowledge of adult educators and interested agencies and organizations.
GED-i
The system offers resources for students in the classroom, as well as allows students, who could not normally attend the traditional classroom, the resources to study GED materials anytime, from anywhere. Students will also receive virtual support from their local GED program.
Steck-Vaughn GED Practice Test
Gedpractice.com is a free service provided by Steck-Vaughn to familiarize you with the types of items you will see on the actual GED Test. By answering GED practice questions and getting feedback, you will develop a feel for the kind of reading, thinking, and problem-solving skills you will need to pass the GED Test.
For the purpose of compliance with Section 511 of Public Law 101-166 (the Stevens Amendment), approximately 19.6% federal funds, or $94,041 were used in FY10 in support of this program.
